Creator and coordinator of the Reference Center for Ethical and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence. Coordinator of institutional policies for ethical and responsible use of AI in the UFF AI Working Group. Nominated for the UNESCO-Uzbekistan Beruniy Prize for Scientific Research on Ethics in Artificial Intelligence in 2025. Her main research interests are Ethical Artificial Intelligence, AI for social good, AI and sustainability.
AI & Human Rights: Who Holds the Power in the World of Algorithms?
No technology is neutral. And artificial intelligence is perhaps the most urgent example of this. Among algorithmic biases, surveillance, work automation and data concentration, there is a growing need to examine AI not only as technological advancement, but as a force that redefines power, responsibility and citizenship. At the same time, the same technology can support inclusion, access to justice and more efficient policies. The debate proposes a central challenge: how to ensure that technological development expands, rather than restricts, fundamental rights. To undertake, in this context, is to understand that building with AI requires both technical competence and human conscience.
