Marie Santini is a professor at the School of Communication at UFRJ. She is the founder and director of NetLab - the Internet and Social Media Research Lab at UFRJ. NetLab conducts research on digital disinformation and its social consequences to inform public policies that promote ethics in governance, transparency, and information integrity in Brazil. Marie is a CNPq researcher, a Faperj "Cientista do Nosso Estado" (Scientist of Our State), an associate researcher with the European Network of Excellence VOX-Pol, a member of the expert committee of the International Observatory on Information and Democracy (OID), and a researcher with the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE).
