Luiza Caballero
Luiza Caballero holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Management from the University of São Paulo (USP) and is a technical advisor at the Executive Secretariat for Climate Change, where she is part of the coordination team for the Climate Action Plan of the Municipality of São Paulo – PlanClima SP and leads projects related to climate education and solid waste at the secretariat.
PlanClima SP: Who Builds Climate Action in the City?
The panel will address the role of cities in tackling climate change, presenting the global context and its effects on the Municipality of São Paulo. Based on the experience of the Executive Secretariat for Climate Change, the main climate impacts on the city will be discussed, along with the evolution of the municipal climate agenda and the importance of public policies to promote urban adaptation, mitigation and resilience. Following this, the Climate Action Plan of the Municipality of São Paulo (PlanClima SP) will be presented as a strategic instrument for the city's transformation. The debate will highlight the joint action of public authorities, companies, startups, academia and civil society in implementing the Plan's goals, demonstrating how climate challenges can drive innovation, sustainable development and new opportunities for collaboration between different sectors.
