Lucas Dantas is a public manager and cultural producer with over ten years of experience in the formulation and execution of projects, events, and public cultural policies. He currently coordinates the Cultural Centers Division of São Paulo's Municipal Department of Culture, responsible for articulating a network of 20 facilities distributed throughout the city. Culture that Transforms Territories: Creativity, Innovation and Urban Development
The panel will discuss how public cultural policies can promote territorial development, social inclusion, innovation in public management, and strengthening of the creative economy. Based on the experience of São Paulo, the discussion will address advances in funding policies, from the Aldir Blanc Law to PNAB, the regional distribution of resources, and the role of Culture Houses and cultural facilities in democratizing access, community participation, valorization of peripheral cultures, and audience development. The debate will also highlight experiences in cultural management, audiovisual, and development of creative businesses.
