Joana Miranda Formigone
Joana Miranda Formigone is an Industrial Pharmacist who graduated and completed her postgraduate studies at Faculdade Oswaldo Cruz in São Paulo, and also holds a diploma in Safety Assessment of Cosmetics in EU from Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She joined Natura's R&D area in 2004 and over the years has held positions with increasing responsibility within the Product Development area, with her main expertise in Face and Perfumery categories. For the past 8 years, she has led the Olfactory Center and is currently Director of Fragrance and Gifts Development.
Feeling, Being and What AI (Still) Doesn't Do
With the accelerated advancement of artificial intelligence, doubt grows about which activities still remain essentially human. In some professions, the presence of the person continues to be central, as it involves body, emotion, subjective perception, and continuous sensory training. Activities related to smell, for example — deeply connected to memory and individual experiences —, represent one of these frontiers. But will AI be able to reproduce or even surpass this creative and sensory dimension in the future?
