Impact at Scale: The Women Who Are Reshaping Brazilian Philanthropy
Brazil lives a paradox. It is one of the countries with the highest number of billionaires in the world and, at the same time, occupies modest positions in global donation rankings. Between these two extremes, a silent movement gains strength: a new generation of women has taken the frontline of Brazilian philanthropy and changed the sector's logic. Less charity, more strategy. Less one-time gesture, more structural change. This panel brings together protagonists of this redesign for a conversation about impact at scale. What differentiates strategic philanthropy from traditional donation? How is trust built between those who donate and those who execute? In what way do coalitions between civil society, companies and government manage to attack causes, and not just symptoms, of problems such as hunger, inequality and exclusion from urban peripheries? The conversation also addresses the place of women in this transformation. Why are they the ones leading this new chapter? What kind of authorship do they exercise when they put their name, wealth and reputation at the service of public causes? And what can the private sector learn from those who already operate on the frontier between capital and purpose? A debate about money, power and generosity. And about the country that becomes possible when the three align.
