Carla Boin
Carla Boin is a lawyer, mediator and reference in Restorative Justice, with over 20 years of experience in conflict management, organizational culture and complex negotiations. Professor at USP, holding a doctorate and post-doctorate from USP, she is executive director of the Generative Culture Institute, coordinator of the Center for Restorative Justice, Diversity and Oral Knowledge at USP, and president of the Restorative Justice Commissions at OAB/SP and the Brazilian Association of Women in Legal Careers - ABMCJ-SP. She is the author of the book From Conflict to Encounter: Generative Culture, the Feminine and Restorative Justice.

Violence against women does not begin at the moment of aggression. It is sustained by a culture that normalizes silences, unequally distributes power and voice, and also permeates the daily life of organizations. Who can dissent? Who is heard? Who learns to reduce their own presence in order to remain? Carla Boin and Elza Paulina de Souza discuss what exists between explicit violence and the everyday behaviors that make it possible.
