Aun Helden
Aun Helden is a Brazilian artist based in São Paulo who works with the intersection of languages, focusing on dance, performance, photography and video. Her practice is aligned with an epistemological and semiotic research on identity. In the search for a subversive otherness and to obliterate the oppressive structure of the destiny of dehumanized bodies, Aun tells the story of a body that crosses death several times through transfiguration as a relic of autonomy. Her performance has been presented at major festivals worldwide such as Berlin Atonal (Germany), One Gee in Fog (Switzerland), WHITEHOUSE (Japan), Opyum Contemporary Festival (France), ArteBA (Argentina), DOOR Foundation (Netherlands).

The Substance – The Body as Art The body has always been a territory of expression, but new technologies are expanding its possibilities as an artistic, aesthetic, and political medium. In this conversation, transdisciplinary artist Aun Helden, nail artist Cyshimi, and makeup artist, model, and DJ Anddy Williams join Júlia Emiko Matsuda, Creative Director of Mad TV, to discuss how different creative languages transform the body into a platform for creation and experimentation. Through makeup, nails, performance, fashion, and emerging technologies, the session reflects on the body as a space for identity, resistance, and imagination, revealing how contemporary artists are expanding its boundaries and proposing new ways of inhabiting and communicating with the world through it.
