President
Fundação Bienal

An important supporter of the arts and culture, Andrea Pinheiro has served as President of the São Paulo Biennial Foundation since 2024, becoming the first woman to deliver a São Paulo Biennial in the institution’s history. Under her leadership, the 36th São Paulo Biennial was extended by one month and significantly expanded the reach of its educational, communications, and accessibility programs. She also led Brazil’s participation in the 60th Venice Art Biennale and the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, as well as the traveling exhibition program of the 35th São Paulo Biennial, which doubled its attendance compared to the previous edition, reflecting her commitment to democratizing access to art. She also serves as a board member of MASP (São Paulo Museum of Art) and as a patron of the Pinacoteca de São Paulo.

In the corporate sphere, she is a member of the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee of Vivo, as well as a board member and member of the Human Resources and Technology Committees of the Brazilian Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC).

With more than thirty years of experience in the financial markets of Brazil and the United States, particularly in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Andrea has built an extensive career in corporate governance, senior executive management, and team leadership. She was a founding partner of BR Partners, one of Brazil’s leading independent investment banks, where she was responsible for the firm’s operational management while also serving on its Board of Directors and executive committees.

Previously, she served as Executive Director of Banco BMC, where she led its transformation into a specialized financial institution focused on payroll lending, a segment in which the bank became one of the market leaders. At BMC, she also led the bank’s sale to Bradesco in 2007, remaining with Bradesco for two years as Executive Director of Payroll Lending.

Andrea holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University and completed an executive specialization in Corporate Governance at the Wharton School. Before being elected President of the São Paulo Biennial Foundation, she served on its Board of Directors from 2019 to 2023.
